From where they send the Interview notice? From NBC or Field Office?

Congrats muthu. Great to hear that EB1A cases in NSC are moving forward. I have a very similar timeline as yours. Hope to hear soon for my case as well. I think the gov shutdown might delay it for a while. Keep us posted. I think there was one more person closer to us right? rapp?? Thanks!

If your case was transferred to NBC then you'll receive interview notices from NBC.

I had my interview today with my spouse at 26 Federal Plaza, New York.

It was pretty straight forward - oath, verify name & address, go over those yes/no questions in the forms.
However, they wanted to see my supplement J, even though I filed concurrently. Luckily my lawyer prepared that form for me before the interview.

The IO was really nice and friendly. At the end of the interview, he said that everything looks good and they just have to do another background check (which he mentioned is a formality and doesn't take long).

my RD is May 2017 and the case was transferred to local office in November. I don't have any interview updates yet -- when I check "Case History" and "Next Steps" online, the next steps says "We will assign your case to an officer. We will review your case and mail you our decision. If we need more information, we will notify you. "

Does this mean that it hasn't been assigned to an officer? or has anyone gotten interview notice when the above message still shows up on the next steps?

Hello all

I am pleased to say that my journey to this Green Card is finally coming to an end.

I attended the interview on 19th Jan at the San Jose local office.

They made it a family interview, all together, instead of individual interview. I had a very polite and nice officer to escort us in and finished the interview in about 45 mins. He was a tall white guy. I don't exactly remember his name.

It all felt like a formality. He questioned us about the details in the I-485, travel history and marriage related details. It was a fun interview and he didn't ask for many documents. Passport, EADs and latest I797s. That's it!

In the end, he mentioned that all looks good and he shall be issuing the green card later in the day. I was surprised and happily shocked to learn this then and there.

Later in the day I got my online statuses updated and the card was put into production. My case on tracker is updated with details.

Hopefully I shall be getting Green Cards in mail in next few days!

Thanks to this amazing community and all your strong folks out there, it would have never been easier to deal with this without this reassurance!

Here is our interview experience in details on January 19th at SFO.

We checked in about an hour earlier. The officer picked us up from the waiting room. The officer was very polite. She had our files opened in her office. We started by taking oath. She asked for original passport, EAD and DLs. She went through our last US entry visa and I-94. She asked whether we applied for GC previously and what was the outcome if any. I mentioned that we are waiting for my approved I-140 (EB2I-NIW) since 2010 to be current. She said “I really feel sorry for you guys”. She verified all I-485 information, point by point. Updated the address, phone number etc. She took my updated I-94. She updated my address herself from my Interview notice. Confirmed mine and my spouses name, address and DOB.
She asked few I-485 yes/no questions for me and my spouse. Asked the primary applicant about the job description and asked question in order to understand it correctly.
Asked to check original birth certificates and check each individual document and asked questions. Asked to show the original marriage certificate. Then asked about our story where we told her how/when we met and how long we knew each other. She was making a note while we were telling the story. She then asked if we wanted to submit any documents. So we gave her copies of joint bank statements, mortgage documents, registration of our 3 cars. She kept the copies in our file. We also showed photos and she asked questions about our family members. She asked us to give only the copies printed on regular A4 paper so that it’s easy to keep along with other documents in our file. She said our file should be updated within 30 days and we received the text updates within 1 hour that “New card is been produced”. We are currently waiting for the cards to be mailed.

Documents:
Passports, DLs, EADs, birth certificate, J-1 waiver marriage certificate, children’s birth certificates, latest I-94, joint bank statements, utilities statements, family pictures etc.

Does anyone know, how long it takes them to mail the card. Mine was approved on Friday, 01/19 but I haven't received the notification that the card has been mailed.
