"Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" Trump said, according to the Post, which cited two people briefed on the Thursday Oval Office meeting with lawmakers. "

May be but I like his merit based immigration push to move toward a system similar to system used by Canada and Australia.if Trump does even HR392 then given a chance I will forever vote for GOP without question.

:) No worries, you will never get a chance to vote as we all will die before our priority dates become current.

I am not that desperate to stay here. I am from North India and just did my MBA from top-tier public university and got job in one of the top 4 consulting companies. Just started my GC and getting to know country cap shit. I am going to work for my promotion and will be willing to move to any other country to get that.

How is it perfectly reasonable ?
How much in absolute numbers does this change increase for India and China ?
Your wait time might come down from 80 years to 70 years.
Also, there is no mention about lifting country limits.

Well he should expressed it more politely but the fact is the quality of immigrants from these countries is low as compared to other more stable and developed countries

are they proposing to end rule which brings parent as gc for us born child?

to l1gc:

Yes.

They are removing parents from immediate family category and creating new 5 years non-immigrant temporary visa for parents of US citizen.

Highly probable! Parents can still live here through unlimited visa. They want to make sure that parents are not able to get any welfare

Man at least Republican always do something for Legal....

I am sure we all remember 2007 Fiasco...Who gave that benefit Republicans Pres Bush...

OB was for 8 yrs he gave nothing....NADA!!!! Infact he made 221G more famous and scared the heck out of H1B ...

Due to only that lot of H1b have not gone back to India from last 10 yrs....

Dem only think about Illegals and Latinos.........Hence if DJT passes anything for us Legal...and If ever I become US citizen will always vote for Republicans...I am sure all stuck Legal H1B Indians....

Yes agreed & we are also beneficiary of H4EAD, but what about us H1B what happened to I-140EAD?

H4EAD was given because they could not give GC if they could have given us I-140EAD to all. H4EAD would not be even needed.

But Dems only talk about Illegals and even to do anything for legals they will always first talk for benefits for illegals...

Now they are not even talking anything about us H1B in the current Bill infact Rep are adding it in the Bill.....

Democrats spell IMMIGRATION a lot and very loudly. But If you look closely, They are only for low quality IMMIGRATION for Voter base. If needed They can suck blood of H-1b.

Thankfully a counter view exists as Republicans, though Republicans are Pro-white they are also Pro-Business and Pro-Economy and Patriots.

Large corporate CEOs on the other hand obviously don't care about H-1b Indian GC Backlog because, Shareholders and Profits come first in the priorities and freeing H-1B Employee Army will not help for obvious reasons :). So they tend to support Legal Immigration to the extent that their corporations have access to H-1b Talent pool. In that Process they end up actually supporting only DACA & other Liberal viewpoints , same as democrats, and democrats happen to align with this agenda.

H-1b fits into economic scheme of things of this Country, But In spite of GC backlog becoming huge, Democrats will still ignore it in the interest of their Vote bank. Always Remember High-Skill (H-1b India) is competitor of Low-Skill & ROW Green card Pool - as they share the same pool after all.

So guys always cheer if Republican talks Legal and Employment based Immigration, because they most likely mean it, on the other hand If democrats do so, Have a good look at it and do not trust it on face value. Ex. i140 EAD fiasco of Obama.

Man we are waiting on H1B for dates to become current from decades. We will still wait on EAD for GC visa to be available.

However you are free of sponsorship and qualifying for more jobs....freely travel to India or anyother country.....

sorry sir I disagree with you

I agree he should have not used that language, doing such he is only distancing from his allies and creating more hatred upon himself and his party, not good
But he is also advocating merit based system, favoring people who obey laws and waiting in lines from ages. Here is the white house brief, check last line

The White House issued a statement that did not deny the remarks.

"Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people," White House Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah told NBC Thursday, as part of a lengthy statement that did not directly dispute the language reportedly used in the meeting.

"He will always reject temporary, weak and dangerous stopgap measures that threaten the lives of hardworking Americans, and

undercut immigrants who seek a better life in the United States through a legal pathway
