wegotit - Thank you very much for the good wishes and quick response. This is really very valuable information.

If possible, could you please share with me a sample of the letter you submitted to address your RFE (obviously removing all your personal information). My email account is julray2014@gmail.com

Thanks again for the support!

I was in same situation, kept raising SR and attorney kept saying they have not heard anything. Finally sent a strong mail to attorney and escalated, then they searched again and found my approval letter. They had sat on it for 3 months ! Bug your attorney to make triple sure they have not received any info.

Hi

My PD is 13th Dec 2016. I have still not received any updates about my case. I have a question about when to request the attorney to raise the SR for my I-140?

I checked with the attorney and they say that the service request stating that the case is outside normal processing times cannot be submitted until the USCIS updates the case processing dates stating that they are processing cases filed on or after December 13, 2016, and 30 days passes since that update.

Currently USCIS is processing 2nd Dec 2016 cases conservatively speaking. So this essentially means after USCIS updates this month's case processing times, my attorney suggests raising SR 30 days since the update, i.e. only by end of Feb.

Can we not raise SR sooner than that? Will raising one yield any result? Please advise.

Good to see that NSC is touching Jan cases. Can you please add your case details in the tracker?

You cannot raise SR until USCIS update their processing date to beyond your PD. However as soon as they update it, SR can be raised, no need to wait 30 days. I was in similar situation. USCIS processing date was updated to oct 16 and my PD was oct 21. It took them 3 months to make the next update. However once processing date gets updated, for i140 SR must be raised by attorney only, so you don’t try to submit yourself.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that I cannot raise an SR. But pls let me know if raising an SR accelerates the case decision or if I would expect a copy paste reply until whatever time USCIS takes to reach a decision?

Having been through and completed a 21 month journey form 140 -> 485 -> GC, I can tell that raising a SR has had positive effects in 485 cases. Have not see any help with 140 cases.Again all this is based on my personal experience.

Not sure if raising an SR will speed up your case, but at least you will get a response as to what is going on. For instance, if your attorney has misplaced your i-140 notice, (like it happened in my case), your SR response will indicate that it has been approved. Or they might say it is in extended review etc. In any case, for I140, SR must be raised by attorney, cannot be done by you. So force your attorney as soon as processing time is updated. Dont let them wait another 60 days

I observed few more Jan cases touched which are not reported here. Most recent one has Received Date as Jan 23rd 2017. Hopefully thats EB1C case and not any other category.

Congratulations. can you please share how much time did they give to submit the RFE response for I-485? Were you required to redo the entire medicals? Thanks.

They give the maximum time that the law provides is around 3 months
All medical was redone except that we went directly to x-ray without TB skin test, if you had TB skin test positive at the first time, the physician will ask you to go directly to do the x ray, we also did Gonorrhea test.
