Hi, I submitted my wifes visa on 20/03/2012 in mirpur, pakistan. On 03/04/2012 update changed to 'under process at BHC'. Its been 18 weeks today. Can anyone tell me how much longer it will take? Also i'm worried about the outcome because i was previously married and have 4 children. Is anyone in the same position as me? If not, does anyone know somebody who has been in this position? Pleas help!

my first marriage was islamic marriage here in uk so i didnt need divorce papers, I think.
I was claiming child tc and working tc when i submitted my papers.
I haven't emailed them coz on the website it says it can take 24 weeks now coz of all the cases being submitted.
Its irritatin me so much coz i really want my wife here with me. I just dont know whats going to happen, InshAllah Allah swt will grant me this one wish, Ameen.

Can someone help me out please?
My wifes visa was refused after 29 weeks of waiting.
Notice of decision was:
THE DECISION:
You have submitted the following as evidence of your english language ability:
- a certificate for city & guilds entry level 1 certificate in ESOL international (spoken) (preliminary A1)
- a notification of candidate results for city & guilds international spoken ESOL- preliminary
- a "fail" notification of candidate results for city & guilds intrnational english for speakers of other languages.
This notification shows that you passed the listening section but failed reading and writing.
In order to meet the english language requirement you must provide an original english language test certificate or certificates in speaking and listening from a UK border agency approved english language test provider. A notification of candidate results is not an original english language certificate and therefore you have not provided satisfactory evidence of your english listening skills. You have also not provided any details about any other way that you consider you meet the english language requirement and have not stated you are exempt from the requirement. Therefore I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of paragraph 281 (i) (a) (ii) of HC395.
I have therfore refused your application because I am not satisfied, on the balance of probabilities that you meet all of the requirements of the above paragraph(s) of the immigration rules.
That was the decision.
What I actually submitted was:
- a certificate for city & guilds entry level 1 certificate in ESOL international (spoken) (preliminary A1)
- a certificate for city & guilds entry level 1 certificate in ESOL international (reading, writing and listening) (preliminary A1)
- a notification of candidate results for city & guilds international spoken ESOL- preliminary
- a notification of candidate results for city & guilds international english for speakers of other languages (IESOL)- preliminary- A1 (on the bottom of this one it has performance codes which are):
GB section grade for listening: pass
GG section grade for reading: narrow fail
GJ section grade for writing: pass
Now can someone shed some light on this for me please and tell me why was my wifes visa refused?
Just doesn't make any sense.
The ECO has clearly wrote that she had to pass the speaking and listening which she did but refused the visa for failing in reading and writing, which she passed one of them and got a narrow fail in the other, but doesn't need.
I hope this helps a lot of people with their applications.

Hi Saj,
I am also in the boat as you. my visa got rejected for pretty much the same reason, however my wife did not sit the reading or writing as it was not needed. She defaulted/bypassed these modules. She received a certificate for the speaking and a candidate results sheet for the listening section. She was not awarded the full certificate as she did not complete the other 2 modules (reading and writing). As per the UKBA guidelines and criteria listening and speaking is all that is needed and a candidate results sheet is also acceptable forms of evidence. Why the visa got rejected, i can only say it was a human error, maybe it was overlooked, ECO was not able to translate the results and against the criteria. I am not sure, however as result it will mean you will have to appeal against the decision.
I lodged my appeal on the 9th of July and was given a pending review deadline date of 14/12/2012, which is shortly upon us. I have waited approx 5 months after lodging the appeal, and i have no information and had not had any form of correspondence since. very frustrating. I can only pray and hope that i hear some positive news soon. Inshallah.
Do let me know if i can help in anyway.
Imran

Hello Everyone, I dont know if I am posting under the right column.
I applied for my settlement visa from Ghana in September 2015 and got refused in January 2016. Reason for refusal was we stated in our application that we have been together for sometimes and there was no communication that shows we ve been together for the time of period we stated of which we added utility bills with both names and also got the tenancy agreement with both names on them and we though that will be the best communication as we were living together... Appealed in February 2016 and got an appeal letter on March 2017 to appear in court on 16th June 2017 after numerous calls from my wife and I and local MP and the judge told my wife she will receive a determination letter in 3 weeks and its the 4th week we entering and still no determination letter from judge can anyone please advise me on what to do now??? Awaiting for your responds. Thank you.
