Pacifire,

Your comment is very professional it takes a great deal of patience and professionalism to take off the blame from the people who ought to own it.

Unfortunately the team (GIT) who supposed to take the ownership and atleast come clean on the approach of the PERM filing and the least they could have done is be communicable to the associates instead of sending custom mails...

I am sorry for your plight, hope you find a suitable employer soon.

Thanks,

Your mail has helped many people in making a decision especially those who have been hanging around for a long time and thought that GIT will initiate the filing at last the moment....

However this internal information you provided clears a lot of mist and explains why the GIT team are helpless even when so many resources are on the verge of leaving the company.

Topic: PERM application for CTS (Cognizant) employees

Hi, You said they started your process what exactly it means did they actually file your PERM i.e. ETA 9089 and did u get any acknowldegement number, unless they do this you can never be sure. Cognizant GIT team first of all tries to delay to a maximum extent to stretch the documentation then if all documentation is fine and you are good for filing you will get a response -

"Dear Associate,

At this time, Cognizant is redesigning our PERM program in light of recent governmental changes that employers are facing across the U.S. As a result, your PERM application has not yet been submitted.

During this time period, GIT will continue to review your case in preparation for a future filing. We remain absolutely committed to our tradition of providing associates a path toward U.S. permanent residency. You will be notified immediately once additional information becomes available. "

This redesign has been happening from past 1.5 years and the last filing which was in Jan 2013 was only in EB3 and for only max out cases.. So unless your ETA 9089 has been filed and acknowledged dont assume they have done anything at all !!!

Topic: 2013 PERM filing for CTS Employees

Hi,

Its really sad and disheartening to see even managers in CTS are being treated no differently by GIT, looking at the trends and tight lipped nature of GIT I guess there should be a huge exodus from CTS this year ??? Wouldnt this result in GIT changing their stand and going for another cycle this year.

I am in CTS from past 8 years and planning to move out in the coming days... due to this harsh attitude of GIT

Whatever the category we are loosing on valuable time, we could have filed it if we were in some other organization. Not sure what the organization will benefit out of keeping the associates in dark about the PERM cycle, we are loosing on valuable time at least if we are informed if its not going to file in near future then we can get out and approach some consultancies.

We need 2 questions to be answered :
a. when is the next filing cycle going to start ?
b. In that cycle which year max out associates are going to be entertained ?

My max out is 04/2015. The PERM request was initiated by my PM in Oct 2011 and all my documents were submitted by Jun 2012. However even then my filing was not done in June 2012 stating my max out is not critical. The same is the reason given to me even now.

Did GIT at least tell which PERM category you fall in as of GIT criteria today ? Let us know if anyone has been informed of a probable dates for this filing. It would definitely help us in making a decision.

One more information I got was the management was working in redesigning the PERM process for Cognizant and no one in GIT team knows how much time that might take. Once the process has been designed starting then we can look for the approx 180 days cycle.

Unfortunately even GIT team is un aware of the date by when this redesigning would be done, the only answer I got was it could take anywhere from a year to 9 - 10 months. So probably we all just passed the last PERM cycle for the year 2013 !!!

Hi,

I spoke to the GIT team folks yesterday, my case has been pending from October 2011 to be filed. The team member explained that Cognizant files the PERM in cycles and never will it file out of a cycle. The cycle includes ads, interviews, hiring cycle followed by PERM filing.

Do any body keep track of the Cognizant PERM filing cycles, I know the last cycle happened in June 2012 the next one was in January 2013 which was EB3 only cycle.

Does it make sense to wait for the next cycle for which even GIT are not sure of when it would begin or to make a move out ?
