Topic: Indian Passport Renewal (San Francisco)...

Thanks harik.

The only difference, I saw was the head to chin specs : for US passport it is between 25 and 35mm while for indian passport they have specified as between 35 and 45 mm. If you dig deep, they have specified in the link (which is on the checklist) but otherwise they just mention it as 2" x 2".

Hope the regular 2" x 2" US Passport works.

Topic: Indian Passport Renewal (San Francisco)...

Hello,

I am trying to renew my son's passport at SFO (minor) and have a quick question on photographs; Does the regular US Passport size / specs is good enough OR is there a change from US Passport photograps?
Please let me know. Thanks

Topic: Do we need transit Visa for London Heathrow connection

The question was whether we need Transit Visa for people who do not have physical green cards (i.e. only I 551 stamping) till the actual physical cards arrive (have applied for the replacement cards as USCIS had messed up the Resident Date Since - they included our PD rather than approval date)

I found from UK website that we need Transit Visa for people with valid I 551 stamping in the passports (even if you are not going out of the Airport and you are there in the same terminal for couple of hours). Even though US treats it as nothing different than GC, UK does not accept I551 stamping as GC or valid entry visa back into US.

I cancelled the BA tickets as I also had some date changes and the economics was not making sense to apply for Transit Visa which is almost $ 100 plus per person and the ticket changes (watch out for BA as they charged me 375 per ticket for cancellation or changes) and the refund may take 8 - 10 weeks.(not sure whether the TRAVEL AGENT is taking me for a ride here)

I'll never ever book through BA after this experience.

Topic: Do we need transit Visa for London Heathrow connection

I have applied for I-90 Replacement Card due to USCIS Error. and still not received the corrected cards. (applied in Nov 2013)

I have booked travel to India for May 2014. I have booked through BA and will have connecting flights at London Heathrow.

1) Will the USCIS Field Office stamp us the Visa, if we do not receive the corrected cards by May'14 ?
2) What kind of Visa they stamp on passport?
3) Should we also apply for the transit visa as we do not have the cards?

Please help. Anyone in similar situation before?

Topic: Typo on Spouse Green Card..

You need to send the 1) covering letter explaining the error 2) Original Green Card 3) Copy of 485 receipt and Approval notice 4) Copy of First and Last page of the passport. No need to pay as this is USCIS Error.

I spoke to L2 recently, she mentioned that it will take 3 - 5 months time to send the corrected cards back and also mentioned that, if we need stamping, we can take infopass and get the stamping done in local ASC.
I am planning on doing sometime soon as I have no plans to travel out of country till Summer.

Topic: Incorrect ("Resident Since:") information on Green Card

Thanks pobox1, I sent my I90 forms and received the Receipts for me and my family couple of days back. I am waiting for the FP notice and planning to ask for stamping during the same time. I could not get infopass in the local ASC, it was unavailable.

Topic: Incorrect ("Resident Since:") information on Green Card

Thanks pobox1: Will they stamp right away in the local office or they will mail the passports after the stamping.

What is the option we need to choose for the infopass (Should be 1 right?)

1. You need Service on a case that has already been filed
2. You are a new Permanent Resident and have not yet received your Permanent Resident Card
3. You want to file an application in person
4. You need information or other services
5. You need a form.
6. You are a United States Military Member, Military Retiree or a Military Dependant

Topic: Incorrect ("Resident Since:") information on Green Card

It looks we need to file I-90 as my Green Card has the wrong Resindent Since date. They actually have mentioned my Priority Dates instead of the approal date.

Can anyone answer what are the documents we need to submit apart from the Original Green Card.

Thanks

Topic: Actual card Received - Tracker.

I received the 485 approval notice and the physical cards today. But looks like they have messed up the dates, they have mentioned the Resident Since Date as my PD.

Saturday 11/09 @ 1PM : CPO email
Tuesday 11/12 @ 8.15 AM : CPO email
Tuesday 11/12 @ 8.15 PM : Post Decision Activity (mailed the 485 approval notice)
Friday 11/15 @ 9.15 AM : CPO (Mailed the cards)
Monday 11/18 : Received 485 approval notice and Physical Cards by mail (no welcome notice/email and the GC has wrong resident since date :Priority Date)

My statuses : Acceptance>CPO>CPO>485 Approval Notice>CPO(mailed Cards)>Cards Delivered (No welcome notice/email or Decision status, tracking CPO and Resident Since Date is wrong as they have mentioned my PD in Resident Since Date)
