Topic: H1b extension processing time - Nebraska

I noticed some June 1/May 31st cases got approved between 1st and 2nd August. So they have surely started looking at some June cases now (though there is not rhyme or reason on how they are processing this)

Quick update:
In my friend's office a May 25 and a Jun 2 2017 receipt date case got approved today. That kind of lines up with the dates i was expecting in my previous post.

I think i saw someone with a 7/22 getting approved a day or so before.
I was hoping this week there will be more folks getting approvals for the uscis receipt date between May 22-May 28

I assume you meant Approved : July 20th, 2017 :) else your 3 day approval might be a record for non premium :)

Last I saw was a 12th May(Friday) application getting approved a few days ago.. So my guess is they will now move on to the week of the 15th?

In a previous post by Kzmishra1, I see this:

Type H1/H4 extension
Filed on May 9 2017
Receipt Notice May 10 2017
Approved on July 11 2017

This is the one i was referring to which makes me think they are at least on or around Mid May applications now.

They must be doing a bunch of updates. I see a scheduled outage for July 9th and there was one last Friday. Maybe they are trying to fix the issues with notifications?
"USCIS will conduct system maintenance on Sunday, July 9, 2017, from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Eastern)"

Thanks - Was it transferred?
It seems like now they might have started to process early May applications.

Doubt they would've gotten to June yet. The latest i have seen approved late June was a super early May/late April application.

It is up now. They were down earlier for maintenance(around late evening Eastern time) as per the note I read on their site yesterday

Topic: Customs form for H1b

Fair enough - all good points :)

Basically it is a tricky question to answer depending on how you look at it. If you look at it as "Not business makes you a tourist but you are not a tourist, then answer = Yes else if you feel business means you are here for a seminar or a meeting with clients , then your answer = No (all this assuming you're coming on H-1b)

Right - I guess they just tear it off once we are out the airport.
They could reframe the question to say "Are you here as a tourist" -> Would make life so much easier :)

All,

What do you usually answer for the following question on the customs form if you are on H1b and entering USA?:
"The primary purpose of this trip is Business"
Is that for the trip i am coming from (for example from India) or the trip i am going to begin in USA for work?

Thanks in advance.
