What if you have a job offer from a Canadian employer? Will that guarantee you a PR?

The number of EB1C applications will not decrease. Why would it?

My estimate is 500-600k total Primaries are in the Queue as of now.

You mean 500-600K EB2 India guys? Remember the queue is only for India and China. That sounds too high. This means that even if all the new 50K greencards go to India, it will take 10 years for a person who applied in 2016/2017 to get GC?

That is true, but since 18K more GCs will be availabe in EB2, and if we assume that EB2-ROW applications don't change, EB2 India and EB2 China should receive a total of 18K more GCs, right?

Apart from the spillover from EB1 (which might be fewer if there are more applications in EB1C), wouldn't the unused GC's from EB2-ROW also go to EB2-India and EB2-China? Assuming that EB2-ROW remains at current levels, this might add a significant number of Visas to EB2-India and EB2-China. Is this correct?

Topic: IV collected 850K in 4 years. Spent 0 dollars on Lobbying

Given the large amounts of money they have been collecting it is only reasonable that people ask who has it been spent. One lie that I hear often is "Lobbying costs money". Their tax returns clearly show that they haven't spent a single dollar on lobbying.

Topic: Should you follow IV?

Once again, you are focusing on the wrong things, but since you seem to be genuine, I will respond to you.

4 - Has IV aligned with or hired any lobbying firm? I know its expensive but then a lot of individuals have been donating for a long time.
Yes, multiple times. But unfortunately lobbyists cost heck of a lot of money, even part time consulting ones. I do not wish to divulge the one number that I am aware of (dosent serve any purpose and not sure I am even allowed to divulge that) for a part time, consulting lobbyist and it is probably more than the highest paid tech worker. You can look up the earnings of lobbying firms for details. Currently Leon Fresco is helping us out. To employ a full time lobbyist, we need to have more predictable cash reserves than what we collect as donations. That is the ground reality.

Immigration Voice tax returns show two things:
1. They got around 850K in donations in 4 years (God knows how much over the many years of its existence)
2. It spent 0 dollars on lobbying.

Either they are lying in their tax returns or you are lying here. What is the truth?

Topic: Breaking news from IV

It is clear that somebody cried wolf and everyone got scared. USCIS clearly says that they don't have any plans to deny 3 year extensions, and even if they did, people can get 1 year extensions.

And companies like FWD.US actually spend money on lobbying. Immigration voice collected $850K in 4 years and didn't spend anything on lobbying (according to their form 990, page 10 and 14).

Everybody in Facebook should tag them and ask them where did the $850K go when they spent $0 on lobbying.

Topic: Breaking news from IV

Really?

IV collected $850K from 2010-2013. By their own admission, they did not spend a dollar in lobbying. Who paid them if not for us? And what did they get in return? And where did the $850K go?

Source: http://990s.foundationcenter.org/990_pdf_archiv...
This is their form 990 (which they submit to IRS). They got 850K from 2010-2013 (Page 14). By their own admission in their form 990, they didn't spend even a single dollar on lobbying (Page 10). Where did that 850K go? People who donate to them can decide based on this single fact whether they want to donate or not. Please spread this news widely.

Dude, IV's IRS forms explicitly state that they don't give a dollar for lobbying. See http://990s.foundationcenter.org/990_pdf_archiv...

They got 850K in the last 4 years. Where did all the money go?

Topic: N0 HR392 in DACA Bill

I registered to just respond to this. As a disclosure, I am an IV volunteer and have been to multiple advocacy events in DC since 2008. I was very close and saw HR3012 take shape, pass in the house and stall in senate and have observed the messaging of the bill since the beginning. I have not been that close to the latest developments, but know to follow the action items put out by IV.

No offence, I just want to understand how IV works before contributing money to them:

1. What does IV need money for? You know that IV is not registered as a lobbying organization. And another organization (SIIA) is doing advocacy without collecting large amounts of money.
2. Is there any transparency on how much money was collected last year, and how much was spent on what kind of activities?

Topic: September 2017 transfer from TSC to NBC

BTW, does the processing times in https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTime... site matter? For example for TSC, it shows that it is processing applications from 15 April 2017 now. But we have people in this forum who got greened after a 485 receipt date of May 2017.

Topic: EB1A Best Paper Award

I have won couple of best paper awards for my papers. I was asked to provide the following evidence:

- Award is internationally recognized as one of the top awards for the field
- Criteria used to grant the award
- Significance of the award in the field
- Reputation of the organization or the panel granting the award
- Previous winners of the award who enjoyed international acclaim
- Award attracts competition from internationally recognized individuals in the field

I just have a copy of the public announcement and the plaque. Did you guys provide any other evidence (for example, letter from the Program Committee)?
