Topic: Indian Passport Renewal (San Francisco)...

I had the similar situation like yours as mine is same sex marriage as well and married to US citizen.I applied for renewal beginning of Jan however what I did basically submitted my marriage certificate and spouse's driving license along with the application and looks like mine is now ready to dispatch according to BLS website. I did receive an email last week that they will not be able to add spouse name in my passport since it is not legal yet but no issues otherwise. Hope this helps,

Topic: I-130 / I-485 Concurrent Filing in August 2013

Hi Colorado28,

Did you check the tracking# for your EAD card? I got the same type of update too but when I checked the tracking# it has the old tracking# which was already delivered on Oct 4 and in USPS website it is also showing as delivered... I think its an error . Can u pls check the tracking# you have there and let me know? I already got my GC so wondering why they send this update for EAD with old tracking#

Thank you nycboy7725 :-)

In fact , you reminded me one thing that after I have the GC on hand I need to go to SSN office as I have the restricted one too as I had H visa earlier.

Hi all,

We got approved on the spot :) feeling so happy :) the interview was super easy .. Asked basic questions how we met , when we met and the officer asked my us citizen to answer them and then he went thru joint docs, pictures, and yes/no questions from i485 with me and gave us a letter that it is approved . It's a conditional gc for 2 years.

Topic: All Interview Experiences Posted Here...

Hi Jesus316,

Congrats on your successful interview... I am just curious do you know what needs to be corrected on your medical form? I was under the impression that USCIS verify the medical form before scheduling AOS interview and issue RFE in case of any issue but looks like thats not case..so can you please provide more details of what IO said regarding the medical? Thank you

Thanks so much for your detailed response ..it was very helpful to clear the doubts I had... I am in the same boat like you and due to retrogression I was not able to file the adjustment of status through employment (only have up till I 140 approved) and the A# I found in I-140 is matching with the receipt notices I received from USCIS for my marriage based green card so got scared in case anything went wrong but as you said its like SSN and for life...so feeling better now :) Thank you :-)

Hi shibakaien,

Thought of checking with you 1 thing as I remembered that you also have employment based GC pending and due to backlog in the priority date you are going through family based GC like us ..so when you see the alien registration number on I-797C receipt notice for I 485 ...is the number same what you have in I-140 ( Employment based) or it is different. Please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks for starting this thread. We are also doing the same thing. We are based out of California. My spouse in USC and I am in H1B ..We got married on July 27th and currently in the process of filing the application in a week or so as we are almost ready ..just doing final review before we submit them.. We are together for 1.5 years now. I personally believe at least at the beginning all the same sex marriage cases will be the genuine cases again that's just my belief.. Hope they treat all us(same sex couples) properly in the interview.. Please share whoever goes in the interview among us and we will all do the same. Thanks again for having this thread..

Topic: Extension of H1B past 6 years and Marriage based green card

Hi,

I will be completing my 6 years on H1B in Feb 2014 and will need to do the extension based on approved I-140. Now next month I am planning to get married to US Citizen and we will be filing marriage based green card application around Sept. So, my question Can I still be able to apply my H1 extension around November or so based on approved I-140 to be in the legal status until I get the marriage based green card? Please advice.
Additional information
Also, is there any way I can apply for EAD through the marriage based green card application while it is in progress.. Just thought of checking with you. Please let me know.

I do not want to let the employer know at the moment until I receive the green card ( through marriage) in hand or stamped in passport.. so in such case Can i ask my employer to file H1 extension to USCIS based on approved I 140? The only fear that I have if USCIS rejects my H1 extension saying that I have marriage based i-485 is in process. Please advice
