Exactly. So your case will be processed as an August case even though it was drafted in July :) I see that August processing is in motion so you should be hearing some good news anytime from now. All the best.

Mine got approved Nov 14th as well. Didn't get hard copy until Dec 8th. It can take a while.

That should be your case number. Replace the T with A. T stands for temporary until it's filed then it becomes A. That was my case at least.

Well as you already know, a lot of things are not checked until you're under audit. So if the IRS decides to audit your returns for any reason, then they could ask for a whole lot of documents (contractor documents and costs, rental income, immigration status etc etc) and that's when things can get a bit hairy. Also, when you file for I-485 you have to submit W-2's. But then again as someone suggested, there should be a separate forum for this topic.

Thanks!

Not 100% sure but from the research I did you are allowed to own rental properties. However, you cannot be actively involved in doing actual renovations as this may be considered as work. The income must be purely passive.

Topic: July 2017 PERM

Hi,

I'm not sure if it's advisable to post your entire case number in a forum....just a piece of advice :)

Nevertheless, i'm positive you'll be hearing something soon...July cases are about only 30%.

All the best!

In short....there is very little order....you could get it either tomorrow morning or next 3 months.

Tbh there is no strict order to this process. Some May cases are being processed and July cases all at the same time. You’ll here something hopefully soon. If you try too hard to get a strict sequence you can be a bit disappointed. It sucks but we have to wait it out. I saw one guy on this forum who’s been waiting since Dec 2016 with no updates whatsever. All the best with your perm!

Really sorry to hear that. I think it will take about another 4 months. If everything was done properly you should be fine in the end. Still sucks to get an audit cuz of the time. Hang in there.

I totally agree with you. Patience is definitely key. And God forbid if your case is flagged for an audit then you'll be waiting for another couple of months. I must say I also understand those who are approaching H1-B expiration which can be a very uncomfortable position to be in. However, at the end of the day there's not much you can do. They will process when they decide to process and hopefully the outcome is good for us all.

Regards,

You should also bear in mind that those percentages are derived from estimates of the total number of cases that will be processed. So it's possible that it's even passed 60%. Someone can correct me if i'm mistaken but I think that's the scenario.

Hi,

I updated it in the tracker this morning before making my post here. I think you should check your filter parameters because i'm pretty sure there have been a lot of approval dates after 6/1/17.

All the best!

Just wanted to give you all an update on my H1-B extension case. Might help someone waiting.

6/9/2017 - Application sent
6/12/2017 - Received
8/18/2017 - Got e-mail from lawyer that he received the hard copy of the approval. petition was actually approved on 8/9/2017.

Note: USCIS still says "case received". This is for FTE and extension was not based on I-140.

All the best to everyone waiting for approval.

Hey,

My H1 extension was also received on 6/12/17 but no update on the site. Still says case received. I know it's still early so i'm not fretting but let me know if you hear anything.

Cheers

Hey dkus

If your company is filing for a green card on your behalf, one of the steps is to file an I-140. With that, you can get an extension beyond the 6 years H1-B. The processing time for petitions with or without approved I-140's are usually similar. Then again this is USCIS we're talking about so there's really nothing like "similar".
