Companies in SilconValley pay less for people on H1B.
Usually, H1B workers are pliant and subservient an ready to put on long hours, work on weekends.. and Companies love these kind of workers..
I am no more on h1B but my friends on H1B put in 70+ hours/week.

normally most company will pay a h1b on an avg 15% less as compared to a non h1b person and the longer you stay on h1b you will notice you get less pay increases , promotions etc will be working longer hours as compared to your other collegues

Exactly and when we complain about it ..... ppl look at us as bieng racist or selfish which is a bunch of crap .... would the same ppl be ok if we robbed a bank inorder to raise money for a good cause ? Nothing justifies breaking the law and if you do break the law then you need to face the punishment ..... whether you have spent 15 yrs in USA or your kids only know USA as thier country .... ? Otherwise what is the reason of having a law ... open up the borders and let everyone come in ....

What amazes me is that TPS is supposed to be temporary .... so why are Dems trying to make it permanent .... the whole concept of TPS is to provide temporary refugee status .... it seems that Dems just want to increase thier votebank in any way possible ...

Definition of TPS : (Temporay legal status)

The Secretary of Homeland Security may designate a foreign country for TPS due to conditions in the country that temporarily prevent the country's nationals from returning safely, or in certain circumstances, where the country is unable to handle the return of its nationals adequately. USCIS may grant TPS to eligible nationals of certain countries (or parts of countries), who are already in the United States. Eligible individuals without nationality who last resided in the designated country may also be granted TPS.

The Secretary may designate a country for TPS due to the following temporary conditions in the country:

Ongoing armed conflict (such as civil war)
An environmental disaster (such as earthquake or hurricane), or an epidemic
Other extraordinary and temporary conditions
During a designated period, individuals who are TPS beneficiaries or who are found preliminarily eligible for TPS upon initial review of their cases (prima facie eligible):

Are not removable from the United States
Can obtain an employment authorization document (EAD)
May be granted travel authorization
Once granted TPS, an individual also cannot be detained by DHS on the basis of his or her immigration status in the United States.

TPS is a temporary benefit that does not lead to lawful permanent resident status or give any other immigration status. However, registration for TPS does not prevent you from:

Applying for nonimmigrant status
Filing for adjustment of status based on an immigrant petition
Applying for any other immigration benefit or protection for which you may be eligible

But would the Dems prefer to have 800K DACA DREAMERS kicked out for 50K TPS refugees.... if Trump is smart he will only allow skilled TPS ppl and EB backlogs

Trump wants skilled ppl .... ppl from African countries are generally not skilled due to lower development in those countries

Wrong. He don't want brown and black people. Period. Nothing to do with skilled and unskilled. Every country needs unskilled and poor people to do shitty jobs.

I do not support Trump as he is anti immigrant ... but from what I read in news he supports the Goodlatte bill which was giving 50K visas to EB backlogs ..... indicating he prefers legal skilled labour as compared to random low skilled ppl from undeveloped countries ... I feel giving first preference to high skilled legals is a better option than giving preference to TPS refugees who will be mainly low skilled

Just read it LOL
"President Donald Trump expressed frustration behind closed doors with people coming to the US from "shithole countries," The Washington Post reported Thursday.

"Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" Trump said, according to the Post, which cited two people briefed on the Thursday Oval Office meeting with lawmakers. "

Do you like the expression "shithole countries"?

Well he should expressed it more politely but the fact is the quality of immigrants from these countries is low as compared to other more stable and developed countries

So many terrible selfish comments.. yikes

What you didn't like about comments? Can you elaborate?

For instance talks about 15% additional tax on DACA people.. is it normal?

vestabet is from Armenia .... so how are u on h1b for 10 yrs .... why have you not got greened .... EBROW is current every year ... I am not sure why you are whining .....

choose the words.. I am not whining ok. And it doesn't matter from where am I and whether I am greened or not. Be careful with your bad wishes to others, as all they will come back to you.

Good luck to all

exactly u dont understand plight of ppl in backlogs .... for 15 yrs ..... extending h1b .... so dont comment on it
