Topic: PD in Last Quarter of 2012 EB2: Future USA or India ?

1) If your are around 35-40 years then you should not have a problem getting full time job in USA.
There is always demand for senior resources (unless your skill set is so bad or you don't want to relocated, which is bull crap)
2) It is ridiculous to wait for GC/EAD to buy a house. Like someone commented earlier, get a home that you can truly afford - meaning 15 loan ...and make memories. Don't rot in an apartment till you get GC.
Remember, you can always rent/ sell the house provided it is in a decent school district.

Sometimes I too think about India but, that is only because of my parents. Money and GC has no bearing on it.
I make decent money on H1B as contractor, I got a house couple of years ago. Sure, if I have GC/EAD I can apply for more jobs and earn 10-15% more doing the same job. But, it not end of the world. I am planning on buying another house next year as a rental property.

Like someone said earlier, live and plan as if you are going to live in USA for long term. Don't over think and lose sleep.

Don't forget to enjoy your life. Because in grand scheme of things, GC - ration card ....nothing matters :)

Exactly.. I am in 45ish.. and lot of confusion.. india here or US for GC..nothing will happen... future is not in our hand..
But we need good education and house for kids..got the house in good school district... then go with flow .. we can't change anything here.. All the best guys.. be happy...

Topic: Max start date for GC Process

Hi Friends,

I am working for a prominent employee and it suddenly stop filling GC's. I have completed my 4 years in USA and not stuck.
My Current VISA is till NOV-2018 and max it can be extended for 6 months more.

I am lill worried about my future and would like to know, Max till what date or month I need to start my GC, so that it should not impact my continuity OR the RED flag that it's over for me.

Will appreciate your feedback.

Thanks

Actually you should not loose a single day, should start ASAP.
Ask a person with Priority Date April 29th 2010 EB2-India, How much his life have changed since he was able file 485 in 2012, because of that he is EAD, kids get CSPA, job flexibility, no visa renewal issues, no hazzle to travel etc....

Lets check for a guy who filed 2 days late. Ask a person who has a Priority Date May2nd 2010 EB2-India, how much opportunity cost he have due to delay of 1 day late for PERM filing, and wait now have to wait till 2021/22 to get EAD/GC. Instead of 2 year wait for EAD, he will spend 12 years to get EAD.

If your current employer is not doing, move on

totally I explained same stuff to HR they are not serious or no idea about India PD..they delayed 2 years now wait times in decades

Topic: Canada or Auz

Looks like Auz economy is not that great compare to Canada ( ref :economictimes)

Canada speeding up PR ( from 2 weeks to 6 month), Any insights. which is good instead of waiting for GC here decades and finally retire without any GC freedom..

Topic: Forming a company on H4-EAD

Based on current environment where govt asked 180 days to review the rule, you should also consider the scenario on what if the H4EAD is revoked or not renewed based on what DHS comes up with.

Starting company and EAD is different. EAD you can work for you company...I guess you start even in H1..talk to attorney ..

Topic: Buying house in current climate

That's right. We are clearly in a bubble. Part of it has to do with low inventory (not much new construction since 2010) and post election 'feel good' factor.

I feel that things will cool down in the next couple of months. For some trends see the link below, especially prices in real terms and price to rent.

http://www.economist.com/blogs/graphicdetail/20...

completely agreed.. But past 4 months people are running here in west coast ( met some desi they are saying house hunters ) crazy guys they bidding +60K more than offer price. Now most of desi have h4 ead and 2+ income so they investing hard earned money in housing bubble also raising price because these crazy buyers..

BTW how do you know will cool off in 2 months... house prices are 15% raised compare to last summer? crazy and not much inventory and selling in 2hr - 24hrs

I got surpeised we were talking about desi selling home.. past 1 week I got surprise builders going for lucky draw because of
desi crowd.. I dont know whats going on... Check out in Seattle new builders..

considering the rule which is going to be in effect from September of this year, and for regional center investment it would cost around 1.4Mil in total including lawyer and other fees.

Lot of my friends invested WA state infrastructure and I520 floating bridge in 2011 -2012..Now they doubled..not sure its right time invest in infrastructure.. its good idea think other business options..

Topic: Porting PD within a category after 485

Folks,

Can we port a PD after the 485 has been filed within a same category?

Situation: I have a EB1 PD of March 2016 for which an I140 is approved and was concurrently filed (have EAD/AP). Now of course courtesy of mass filings, even EB1 is retrogressed to 2012, so there is further delay.

However, I do have a EB2I PD from August 2010 approved as well. The question is can i now use that EB2 PD to somehow cross charge/upgrade it for the EB1 filing?

Understand this may be complicated and not a lot of upshot given administrative work and 4 months delay but given how unpredictable this process has become, I want to explore this from a future perspective.

Is this even possible?

Do you mind to share how to convert from Eb2 to Eb1c.. did you fly to india for 1 year

Topic: Buying house in current climate

Who is saying $1 million is a big deal for desi guys. Many buy in that range. And when couple working, it is more easier.
But my friend, you seem to be missing the thing again and again.
I am not talking about GC desis of today. Or H1B, L1B sweet couples of pre-Nov 2016.

I am ONLY talking about people on visas, and home values in places where we usually buy. Nothing more or nothing less. And only after Nov 2016. I am also seeing many houses here. But they are not bought by people like us, They are sold by people like H1 and L1, and bought by GC and Citizen. So we are in 90% agreement I think.
Did you read the latest now. Who is even able to consider buying house or car in this environment.

I guess EO is signed .. so High range should be Ok to buy the house I guess..housing price is different issue THO
