OMG! This is so frustrating. I wish that NBC told you ahead of time to get a new Medical letter when coming to the interview. Wasn't that the point of them assembling all docs before sending it to the local office. So sorry that you have to go through this!

Once you submit the new medicals, they should process your case soon. Hopefully, they approve it within a month of submission.

Your EAD is generally a combo card that serves both as the EAD and the AP approval. Can you check your EAD card and see if you see this at the bottom of the card (right below the card expiration date)?

"SERVES AS I-512 ADVANCE PAROLE"

If you do see this, then this is your EAD and AP combo card. If you don't, then that's when you talk to an officer.

PS: If you already know this, sorry for wasting your time.

Congrats on a successful interview experience and the green card approval. I echo your thoughts on the SF officers. My officer was very polite and made us very comfortable throughout the interview.

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
On January 5, 2018, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number LIN1790XXXXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Impressed with the superfast processing by the immigration officer. Will now wait for my cards.

Standard employment verification is fine. It's good to have the following information in the employment letter.

- Please use your full legal name (as in your passport and i485 application)
- Letter should be Addressed to: 'United States Citizenship & Immigration Services' with subject 'ATTN: Adjustment of Status'
- indicate that you are a full-time employee of company XXX on an at-will basis (if applicable)
- The company intends to continue you full-time employment
- your title
- your start date
- your current salary
- It's better to have a hard copy and must be signed with wet ink.
Also, carry the latest 4 - 6 paystubs.

Getting the letter dated a few weeks before the interview date is fine.

Thanks,

He did collect the passport at the beginning of the interview and verified some details on it.
We also carried our DOB certificates and all other docs. But he was just doing a verbal check.

Topic: September 2017 transfer from TSC to NBC

My spouse and I just wrapped up our i485 interview at the San Francisco office this morning. Here is a summary of my experience:

Scheduled interview time: 7:45 am (Me) 8:30 am (spouse).
- Check-in time: 7:40 am
- Wait-time: 20 min
- We were called in at the same time around 8 am and interviewed together
- Immigration officer's name: Officer Cen
- Interview duration: 30 min

Questions asked:

To me:
- Officer verified my name, DOB, current address
- What company do I work for? What does my company do?
- How long have I worked for my company?
- What is my role in the company?
- Asked for SSN, phone number (office wrote these details in the application)
- Why did I spend 2 years in Europe? (I worked my company's European office for 2 years to expand our business there)
- When did you get married?
- Asked about 5 to 6 Y/N questions from the i485 application
- Had us review the changes he added to the i485 (such as ssn etc..) and sign the document

To my spouse:
- Officer verified name, DOB, current address
- He asked what happened to the previous green card application (my spouse filed for a green card application back in 2012 that went nowhere)
-Where do you work? When did you start to work? Did you have an EAD before you started working? (my spouse is on L2 visa)
- Officer verified my name, DOB, current address
- Asked for SSN, phone number (office wrote these details in the application)
- Where did you get married? Which city? How did you meet? How long have you known each other.
- Asked about 5 to 6 Y/N questions from the i485
- Had us review the changes he added to the i485 (such as ssn etc..) and sign the document

The officer was very polite and also reminded us to take all documents at the end of the interview. We had a pleasant experience talking to him throughout the interview.

At the end, the officer said everything looks good and he said he has to complete some standard admin processes (including a criminal background check for the two of us). He anticipates that he would complete it in the next 3 business days.
He said if everything looks good, we should get an update in about 2 - 6 weeks. He also told us that we should not travel outside the country until then. He also said in case of any emergency travels, we should contact their office first.

At the end of the interview, we were handed a notice of interview results (attached a photo of it). We assume that this is a standard notice. He also told us that it has our A numbers listed. The results state the following:

"Your case has been held for review. At this time USCIS does not require any further information or documents from you. Should further information or documents be required, you will receive a notice in the mail. Otherwise, a final decision will be made once your case is complete"

I would say that the SF interview experience should be pretty straightforward. Good luck to everyone who has their interviews in the next few weeks. Will keep you posted when I have more updates on my case.
