Thanks for the response Karthik. Earlier my h1 was valid so they were running my payroll here. But from Oct 10th my h1 expires. My question is how can they run my payroll here when my h1 has expired!

I work for an american non IT company. My PD is 24th may 2013. After recapturing days spent outside and a vacation, my h1 was extended till Oct 10th. But with DOLs current speed, my PERM will not be approved before December. So I am being transferred to their office in Chandigarh for a couple of months. I will leave US on sep 10th leaving a months time for recapturing and extending my H1 after PERM and I140 is approved. My HR says my payroll will be run here though I work in India. Will running the payroll create problems when they try to recapture the last one month of my h1? Can someone who has done/is doing this please share knowledge on this.

I had taken a vacation for 8 weeks and returned back 40 days before max out. I got the stamping in Chennai(India) using the drop box. I did not even have to appear in person for the interview. Everything was smooth. I have a clean history. I am a full time employee working for the same company for the past 7 years. If yours is a clean case our and if your eimployer supports you, you can go on a vacation and be back after the stamping.

it was a big jump coz 9 and 10 were sat and sunday. overall 100 approvals per day is the average and 410 for a week is the average. This avg has to increase to see real movement.

Sir am sure you are more knowledgeable than me, but am just trying to be a little positive. Plz correct me if am wrong. In your calculation you have included feb weekends too. And the other point is the number of perms have declined after jan feb 2013(though not considerably less). The number of perms done in march and april are lesser than jan and feb. So processing time wouldn't exceed 190 days for march and april guys is what i feel. My PD is may 24th :( Am hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. Am maxing out on Oct 9th (after recapturing and out of country vacation). I would work from india until perm, I140 and h1 extn are done. And yes i'd share the WH petition with other friends.

Yeah kevin you are right. In the statistics provided by dol q3 has lesser perm than q1, so april for sure has lesser perms.

Yeah the trend analysis is perfect. But i hope things would move faster after furlough(beginning of October). The quaterly count for Q3 is lesser than Q2. So there is a chance that things move faster. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Can you plz explain if your answer 'yes' is for a new H1 which will go thru the cap? or extension of current H1 immediately after Labor is approved?

Topic: Mar 2013 PERM approved - true?

A friend of mine who works for one of the top IT firms in US, told me that his PERM was applied in March 2013 and it was approved in Jun 2013. Am shocked. Could this be possible or is this false info?
