Topic: PERM application for CTS (Cognizant) employees

Thanks justdoitnow...

Wont i be able to retain the current PD for PERM which is 18-Jan-2013, and use that for another 1 year GC extension through the new employer as long as my I-140 remains pending? Also, what happens if I-140 gets approved in the background for my current employer?

Can someone provide the average processing time currently (Oct 2014) for PERM I140 approval based on EB3 filing.

I'm asking for Regular filing, not Premium processing. Please advise

Topic: PERM application for CTS (Cognizant) employees

I am with Employer A with labor approved and I-140 filed a month ago (not yet approved), in EB3 category. My H1B is already past 6 years limit and is currently on its GC based extension till May 2015, so I have some months left until current expiry before which I would need to apply for another GC based extension.

I am looking for a job switch. Is it possible for me to switch job and get my H1B and GC transferred to Employer B while im on my 7th year of H1 and Perm I 140 is still in process? If so, what's the process and any pros/cons and caution points to be careful about? Is it possible to upgrade to EB-2 while i transfer the GC to Employer B? I guess my PERM I-140 will take atleast 6-9 months as per what I was told by company attorneys (not sure how accurate that info is), please correct if you know better. I dont want to wait that long to switch job since I'm upset with my current employer.

Please advise if you have experienced similar situation or have good solid information.
