Topic: Recommend a reputed consulting firm

Hi Guys,

I am a 13 yrs old Capital Markets Business Analyst working as a consultant in banks. I am looking to transition myself as a contractor or consultant and looking for leads or references on reputed consulting firms who would sponsor GC (my current status - I-140 approved). Any references or leads are appreciated.

Topic: Advise on Consulting firms

Hi Guys,

My status :

PERM and I-140 approved, on EB 3 category, PD - June 2012

Question :

I am working with a reputed outsourcing firm as a Sr. BA and I am interested in exploring the options of working with consulting companies for various reasons, more importantly it provides me some flexibility (compensation, no appraisal evaluation exercise etc., right to hire opportunties). Can you guys provide names of reputed Consulting firms who would initiate a PERM and find a contract with investment banks?

I have done some research on my end on desi consulting firms and found that most of them are not reliable, not sure how true it is? I looked for Apex Technologies and read some reviews as well. Let me know if you guys have some inputs.

Topic: Fly like a bird! Advise

Guys -

I am aware that no employer would start PERM on joining, it would take about 6 months to a year before the GC process is kicked off.

What is a better option then?

1. Push my current employer to file in EB2.
2. Do an MBA (not for GC advantage only :-)) here and then reach out for favourable employers ready to sponsor H1 and GC later, this makes life much easier I believe.

Topic: Fly like a bird! Advise

My PERM is filed in EB3 category and I-140 lies approved with a reputed IT outsourcing firm. I am looking for better opportunities in terms of job profile and compensation.

Can you let me know based on your experience :

1. Will an employer be ready to file a fresh PERM with PD in retrospective effect?
2. Will they sponsor H1B and the PERM? I understand that this is a tough scenario, can anybody let me know if they have experenced this scenario?

Any help in this regard will be much appreciated.

Topic: H1B Visa Stamping - Return of PP

Hi Folks,

I appeared for visa interview on 29th Jul 2014, the visa is approved but the counsel officer confirmed that the USCIS systems are down and it may take about 2 weeks to send the passports with the stamped visa. Can anybody throw light on the SLA for receiving the stamped passports? Did anybody experience major delays in recent weeks?

Topic: June 2012 DOL Audits for Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS)

Did anyone apply for US visa stamping from London Consulate? If yes, can you share the details please? (appointment / expense re-imbursement etc..)

I am told by Global Mobility team that they dont support US Visa stamping in LDN.

Appreciate an early response.

Topic: Visa Stamping in London

Hi,

I am awaiting for petition approval on H1B (not subject to CAP) based on GC I-140 approval. I am currently based out of London for the last 1.5 years. I am planning to raise a request with my employer to schedule a visa stamping in London embassy. I have visited the website but not clear what are the documentation requirements. Here is the basic list of items that I can think of, let me know if there is anything else required :

1. Copy of PP Photos (2" X 2")
2. I-797 Petition
3. Previous Petition copies.
4. Current Lease Rental agreement proving that I am staying in London.
5. Bank Statement.
6. Current Payslips
7. W2 for the last 3 years in US
8. Marriage Certificate
9. Birth Certificate of my child.
10. DS-160 forms

Many Thanks

Topic: Exit Stamping not available in PP

Hi Guys,

My I-140 stands approved and I had to move out of US after maxing out of H1B visa in Mar 2013. I am applying for H1B with no cap to move back to US. While submitting docs I realised that the exit stamp (13th Mar 2013) is missing in the PP. The I-94 was torn from the approval notice and kept by the airport staff. Please can anybody advise if there will be an issue or how do I get this stamped now if possible? What is the alternative document to prove that I had exited? Tickets?
