We had our interview on Feb 28th and got our cards on Mar 9th. Check my profile for case details. The interview seemed like a formality. Our Attorney got there before us and had us checked in at the counter. My spouse had the interview scheduled right after mine but we had the interview together. It's a bit low tech how they call you for the interview. The Baltimore Office has a huge hall with two doors, one on each opposite end, far away from each other. The Officer will come out of one of the doors (you won't know which one) and call your name. Most of them don't use the PA system. So, you have to pay attention, especially with their pronunciation of the foreign names. We sat at one end at the beginning and them moved to the center aisle so that we can monitor both doors.

Our interviewer came out on the right door, did not use the PA system but we responded quickly. We were taken to an Office, took oath, answered each item (first thru last page) on the 485 form. Office asked for my Employer verification letter and latest pay stubs. I showed the originals and gave the copies for the record. Officer asked if we have anything to add. I said No. Officer asked our attorney if their is anything to add. Attorney said No. The same repeated for my spouse. Interview was over in 25 mins. Officer had us wait outside as while taking copies of passport and EAD cards. At the end, we got the standard letter about waiting to hear from USCIS for 120 days. To our surprise, we got the approval letter by mail on Mar 5 which said the cards will be mailed or bio-metrics will be required within the next 90 days. We got call from Attorney that they have the cards 3 days later. Online case status was not updated after the interview.

This has been a great forum to exchange information and learn the process better. Good luck all!!

Employment based interview scheduled for Feb 28th. Corporate reorganization taking place now with a new parent company. Dealing with attorney to avoid pitfalls. Nervous. Sigh!!

My interview is scheduled for end of February but the I-485j is still not approved. The I-485j case status is "Case transferred...". Should the I-485j be approved prior to the interview?

Topic: I-131 Approval Notice not received

I got response from USCIS for my "I did not receive my document" SR. The letter says - further research is required for this issue; wait another 60 days to get a response.

Useless information.

Topic: I-131 Approval Notice not received

I did not get the AP document for a month. So, I raised an online SR (Document not received). The online status shows that the response to my request was mailed to me yesterday and the request was closed. I will know more when I get the response to my query and I will update the forum.

Topic: EAD/AP pending for >90 days

There seems to be a new trend where combo cards are not issued. My EAD/AP was approved after 107 days. The approval notice said I will receive a combo card. However, I only received the EAD card without AP. I have out in an inquiry about the AP. More delays. Geez!!

Topic: I-131 Approval Notice not received

This is total baloney!! We have to reapply because they cant send a copy of the document for an approved case?? I believe that the EAD and AP cases are handled separately and the system has glitches in keeping them in sync. My EAD approval notice says that my AP is also approved and I will get the I-766 card with the I-512 remark. However, the card did not have the AP.

I have the same issue as well - EAD card without AP notice. I am waiting for the date mentioned in the EAD approval notice to pass before raising the SR.

I have the same status. Got the EAD card without AP. The I-765 approval notice says EAD and AP are approved but only the EAD card was attached. The approval notice does say that the EAD card will be sent separately with the I-512 endorsement. Very confusing.

Thanks dragontail15, pistolpete, and rahgu

It still took 107 days. No word on dependents yet.

Still have to be patient for the 485 to progress. Long way to go. Hang in there!!

To complicate things, the USCIS center in Mesquite, TX specifically deals with asylum, removal, and deportation cases. Need to be patient to get the hard copy and see the reason for the transfer.

I-485 Received Date - August 31, 2017

On Nov 24th case transferred to NBC.
On Dec 2nd case transferred again. No hard copy yet. Automated message says case transferred to Mesquite, TX. Waiting for hard copy to confirm location of transfer. I am in the East Coast. TX is not my local Office.

No EAD/AP yet.

Wonder what the transfer is all about.
