Topic: PERM application for CTS (Cognizant) employees

I got a reply from GIT, that they consider prevailing wage also for EB category. Even the GIT guidelines have mention abt the same, but I donno how they calculate the level n where do they fit you in.

It is in a document review phase for almost 4 months now. By the time they file my case, it will be another 3-4 months for sure. DO you think, I is wise to wait in CTS for EB3, when I still have more than 3 years left on my H1B.

Topic: PERM application for CTS (Cognizant) employees

Hi All,

I have been following up with GIT and keep getting the various response as below. My MaxOut Date is 2016 and from what I understand they have various reasons to exclude you from EB2, is it still advisable to stick to CTS or better move to some other company.

Help Desk Response 3:

As you may already be aware, Cognizant is currently in the midst of the PERM recruitment cycle, which is mandated by the US Department of Labor. Cognizant cannot file any PERM cases with the DOL until the recruitment phase has been complete. This is impacting all Cognizant associates at this time. We will be in contact with you as soon as there is an update. We thank you for your continued patience in this matter.

We have resumed PERM filings for only those Associates who are in Urgent Max Out Situations. For those in Urgent Max Out Situations ( those that we have their max out date by 12/31/2013), we are hoping to have filed in next 30 days.Your's should be filed based on your MAXOUT date, you will be notified once the PERM is filed.

Help Desk Response 2:

Priority is given to max-out cases. You will receive an update along with the category once we review your case. As soon as we finish reviewing your case we will contact you with information regarding the category and the next steps in the process.Cognizant is in the process of completing the necessary steps in order to file PERM applications. You will be notified immediately once additional information becomes available. Your continued patience is appreciated.

Help Desk Response 1:

We have received the documents as per checklist. Currently, the request is pending with GIT for review. Case manager will review and get back to you in case of any clarification. Due to huge volume of approvals received recently. Case manager will contact you directly when they are ready to file your case.

Cognizant is not able to file any PERM applications until further notice. As Cognizant is currently assessing the DOL PERM requirements and policies, a definitive timeframe to resume Cognizant’s PERM program cannot be confirmed. Unfortunately, no exceptions can be made, regardless of level of escalation or personal circumstance, as Cognizant’s PERM program is on hold. During this time period, the team will review your case, but we will not be able to provide a filing date or EB filing category. As soon as there is any update, you will be contacted.

Thanks.
