Topic: San Antonio Field Office Interviews

Congrats on completing the interview. I had a very similar interview experience. To me, the IO mentioned that, due to the retrogression, she doesn't have advise on either to keep the case in the FO or to send it back to the Service Center. It has been 3 weeks since my interview, and I understand the case is still in the FO.

I believe, since my interview notice came from the FO, there is no status visibility in USCIS / DHS website (USCIS case status website still states 'Case was transferred', and DHS website states 'We are scheduling your interview').

I understand your interview notice came from the FO as well. Did you have any status update after your interview?

Address on the envelope is the reference. Based on my experience, Interview letters from the FO doesn’t provide much status update online. Those from NBC have a lot more tracking info online before / after the interview.

All the best for your interview.

Yes - Definitely there is an option. My attorney informed not to get it redone unless specifically required. It may preempt an RFE later, but revised Medicals may not be accepted by FO as well - Someone had posted that the IO did not accept updated Medicals during interview in Dallas FO.

Did the interview notice come from the FO or NBC?

Topic: Toddler in interview

If your toddler has received an interview notice, you need to take her as well. We took a 2-year old, as he had received an interview notice. At the end of the interview, you will need to sign in your toddler's I-485 form.

Topic: EB1 - Interview Completed, and Waiting for Green Card

Reading through various posts, I understand that EB1 visas were exhausted by 16th March, and that no visas were available for GC issue from 19th March. Although the retrogression starts from 1st April, visas were exhausted, and so, no GCs. I had my interview on 26th March, and the IO informed that the case will be pending status, for visa availability.

I agree! In my interview as well, the IO gave a verbal approval, and told that I could expect my GC in 2 weeks or so. Then, I specifically asked the IO regarding retrogression, and if I am still going to get my GC. Then the IO checked in the system, and informed that the visa is not available, and that the GC is going to be delayed until the dates become current. As FOs had visas till 16th March, and that your interview was on 19th March, the IO may have just told the standard verbiage. No specific meaning to it.

And, because I was asking about these, the IO also told that they don't have a direction on, if they should keep the retrogressed cases at the FO (or) should it be transferred to the Service Center. In your case, I see that the case has been transferred back to the Service Center (most likely). In my cases, I believe the case is still at the FO. For me, even my interview notice came from the FO, and hence no status update anywhere (USCIS site or the DHS site).

We cant do anything, but to hope our cases will be taken up when the dates become current.

No - The IO did not ask for the latest tax return. Although I had my latest tax returns, I did not submit, as it was not asked.

Hello All,

Starting a new thread for all those who have completed their EB1 interviews, and waiting for dates to become current to be issued a GC.

Do you see any status update in http://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ or https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus I got my interview notice directly from FO. My status in http://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ remains at 'We are scheduling your interview'; and https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus remains at 'Case transferred'.

The wait continues...

If you can file between today / tomorrow. For Employment-Based Preference Filings, You must use the Final Action Dates chart in the Department of State Visa Bulletin for March 2018 till 03/31; and April 2018 Visa Bulletin from 04/01. Refer https://www.uscis.gov/visabulletininfo

Medicals - We didnt ask this, as we believe the Service Center will issue an RFE, when the medicals expire, and cases are again taken up for approval.

I-485 forms - These were the forms that we had sent to the Service Center, when we filed the I-485 application.

Topic: San Antonio Field Office Interviews

Hi All, we (Self, Spouse and child) have completed our EB Interview yesterday at San Antonio FO.

As many have posted, no challenge at all. The IO called our token #, and took us to her office. Started with validating our lawful presence (Compared travel dates with Visas), and then took each of our I-485 forms, and confirmed each detail in it is correct (incl. validating SSN with the original), and had us sign at "Part 13. Signature at Interview" section of our respective I-485 forms. Then requested for the Employment Verification Letter, and Pay stubs. The only question I / We were asked as, on my current role responsibilities. We were not asked to sign any attorney waiver form (we did not take our attorney with us for the interview).

We were done, and the IO started saying that, she will be approving our case, and that we can expect our cards in the next 2 weeks, etc. I asked her about the retrogression for EB1, and if a Visa is indeed available to issue our GCs. She checked her system, and then apologized and said that a visa is not available. So, she mentioned that the case will be in Pending till visas become available (typically by Oct).

She also mentioned that, at this time, they don't have any direction on, if our files have to be kept in the field office or to be sent back to the Service Center. The IO made it a point to take our interview notices along with the tokens (not sure if this was the case with everyone else). The interview concluded, and we were escorted back to the waiting hall.

I am waiting for any status update in DHS website / USCIS website. My interview notice came directly from the FO - So, even DHS website still states "We are scheduling your interview".

So, the wait continues...

Come on! Grow up ericaAJ. I have already moved on.

I was pitching in for AceMan1, who was trying to clarify for everyone's benefit, when you tried to belittle others. Respect for others comes first. Some quotes from your own replies: - 'Mind you they are not all low paid folks like EB3's'; - 'You are an EB3 (third preference which means LAST)'

Do read your own statements, and you can understand who is belittling who. Please try to understand that nobody is trying to belittle others. All of us are against fraudsters (EB1A / B / C / EB2 / EB3).

Try to be a human!

Well fellow applicants. Nicely articulated. If you all believe that EB1C is easier, what is stopping everyone from using that same route? Let us all understand that each of us are pursuing our own interests for various reasons. Demeaning anyone / any category doesn’t make any difference. If it makes one feel better, it is just sick!

@EricaAJ - Please do respect your fellow humans. Your posts show your class too.

Let us all act maturely, and atleast represent the well educated standards, that brings us all here.

Dear AceMan1, very nice example to drive the point - I respect your views, that shows the level of maturity that many lack.

It is unfortunate that everyone believes that someone else is eating their lunch, while not realizing that everyone has earned it in their own ways (EB1A / B / C / EB2 / EB3 all included) - And, we see this coming majorly from our fellow country men, and not so much from our neighbors, who are also retrogressed similar to us. I don't have any data points with me to state or deny that frauds are happening anywhere - So, don't wish to comment on that.

But, let us all understand that, if someone believes that the rules of the game are lenient for any category, there is nothing stopping them from taking that route, as long as it is legal (unlike reservations).

And, everyone here is just speculating based on their own beliefs, on how the system is working (self included). Folks, please realize that USCIS has all the data from every applicant across every category, and that they have every opportunity to put-in-place the necessary checks and balance.

Good that you have completed your interview.

Do keep checking the new website (https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/) to see if there are any further updates. All the best!

You are most likely to expect an RFE for medicals. However, it is bound to happen for anyone, unless they submit an updated medicals during their interview (which is optional). You may re-do your medicals sometime around Sep, so that you could respond to, as soon as you get your RFE.

Do keep checking your status in the new website (https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/) to see if your case is getting transferred to NBC / your Service Center. Not sure if there will be a transfer notice sent for this.
