Topic: PERM application for CTS (Cognizant) employees

@cts0623: Everyone is saying to leave the company. Leave and go where? I have six months remaining. With a family, you think twice to switch to a contractor.. Atleast, here, you go to India with a job in hand or move to another geography.. If you move to a contractor, and for some reason , if they fire you, you go back without a job. If both of them in a family works, it's a different story.. With single earning household, you have to plan properly.. And, above all, it all depends on the technology, job role, individual's capacity etc.. For some technology/roles, you always have demand in the market and you can switch to a contractor. But, not all of them.. And, above all, it also depends on the performance of the individual.. Someone who is risk averse will never switch to a contractor...

And, to your last comment---- Who cares even if Karthiksubbu is a moderator trying to promote use of Trackitt or he's a C*S employee trying to brag about C*S. I'm benefitted by the knowledge he shares and also from the genuine folks who provide their updates thereby helping me to have updated info about what's going on with perm processing within my company...

I wonder why CTS folks have so much confusion on immigration matters?
Don't have a clear cut policy? ----
Company has guidelines and procedures. But, it does not have every detail pertaining to the current cycle. For ex. How are cases prioritized, what is the cut-off date they are considering upto which they will file etc. are not answered in the guidelines. Guidelines will only talk about eligibilities, quailifications etc.. But, there might be exception handling which we may not know..
So, for things like this, we wanted to have an update on what's going on with our co-workers to better push our own case with our case manager and to have better clarity. Everytime, it's a pain to raise a service ticket and wait for days to get a response.

Even on case by case basis, Why don't CTS HR clarifies them? one2one.. --- Really!! Do you know how many HR employees C*S will have in US. Not more than 0.5% of the employees. They may not even care, if you quit for this reason.

Why there is need to discuss internal matter publicly?
Are you affiliated with CTS? - Will it be possible for you to post CTS Immigration policy here of somewhere these people can read.--- It's benefitting many people like me rather than harming anyone...

I would not recommend posting C*S immigration policy here. Uplaoding a formal company specific document may not be appropriate in a public forum rather than discussing your own personal situation within the company wrt gc processing.

@Seattlerocks- I totally agree with you.. so far, i only read in news about sadists or deranged psyc*os.. But, first time i'm seeing a guy chatting with us real time who feels happy and relishes about other's problems and sorrows.. So far, by God's grace been lucky to not meet such guys face to face in my life..

Infact, it's 3 years extension after I140, if i'm not wrong. And, I'm not moving out now. I'm planning now to move out by Mar end.
@Laksan- I'm a SA with 7 years exp outside C*S. Also, I have been in L1B earlier & now in H1 in US for the past 5.4 years.

My Max Out is April 2014. 2 days back I got a reply that mine will be filed in EB2. I have 8 yrs exp. I joined C*S in October 2012. Also, requested me to wait for an update in few days. I know my chances are bleak to get through perm & i140 before April. On the flip side, am getting ready to gooutside US.. I know it's rare scenario to get through w/o audit.
I have a question. If my Perm is filed and I go to India/Outside US, will C*S continue my Perm process until it is approved, or they will back out? Is it possible to kick start perm process, and come back when perm & i-140 is approved.

Guys-Please let people use this forum for what they need. We are not kids here, and we don't want to debate here on which company is good or bad here.. Any update on perm filing for this September cycle is welcome.. There are many other forums that are open to crib about the company. Please go there and share your feelings.. We are with C*S for some reason, constraints.. So, don't provide unwanted gyan in this forum..
