They don't. They barely work on regular days, why work on a mandated government holiday?

Topic: I-485 July 2016 Filers

I hope this is helpful for those of us who are waiting. If you've ever wondered what the response to a Congressional inquiry looks like, here is an example. Details are in my profile, but USCIS acknowledged receipt of my RFE (Medicals + Supplement J) back on December 14. My congressman's office received this response yesterday to their latest inquiry:

"U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records show that the case for which your constituent is inquiring is currently under review and USCIS is processing the case. The response from the Request for Evidence was received and matched up with the file and has been forward to the adjudicator for review. Your constituent may check the status of his case on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov by entering the receipt number in the Case Status box or by calling the USCIS National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 (inside the United States) or (785) 330-1048 (outside the United States).

If after 45 days from the date of this email USCIS has not notified your constituent regarding the status of this case, please feel free to contact our office to request the status."

Topic: Advance parole processing timelines NSC

Mine took just over six months, but I applied back in June (it was a renewal). Hopefully it only took so long because there was a glut of applicants. However, in the Age of Trump, be prepared to wait. Sorry, I wish I had better news for you, but you have to temper expectations.

The first time around, in 2016, it took half that time.

Me, too. Got the "courtesy copy" of the AP approval in the mail, but no travel document yet. Lawyers said to contact them if I don't have it by January 19.

The officially posted processing times are a joke.

Mine took six months (June 19 RD at NSC). Details are in my profile. Hopefully yours is quicker, but every USCIS process seems to be taking even longer.

Thank you! Did you file at Nebraska or Texas? I've been noticing the Nebraska cases, when approved, still show as "Case Was Received" whereas Texas does not.

Topic: AP approved but online status not updated?

Hahahaha true, right? No, this is just me being paranoid about the whole process in this country. Nothing USCIS does makes any sense, and I don't believe anything until it's in my hand.

My employer hires and pays the lawyers, and they're generally ver good, so I can't exactly complain. Just weird that they get an approval notice, and I get nothing. I'm 99% sure I'm approved...but waiting on the piece of paper before I book a plane ticket.

Has anyone had this experience? My online status on the USCIS site is still showing as "Case Was Received" (RD June 19, NSC). However, my lawyer just reached out to say my AP has been approved. Has anyone seen this before? Which do I believe...?

Topic: 485 pending - EAD/AP 2nd renewal waiting for more than 60 days

It's taking more than 150 days, in a lot of cases. I'm sorry to say that the published numbers are largely inaccurate. There is no logic as to how USCIS processes applications. The only thing those processing times are good for is to enable the filing of case inquiries/SRs. Any other use of that page is just filling yourself with false hope.

My EAD/AP renewal was received June 19. The EAD card was approved Dec. 15, and I received it Dec. 21. It's a two-year card. Overall, 182 days.

The AP is still outstanding, now pending for 194 days. According to the latest processing times for the NSC, as of Oct. 31, they were processing mid-July applications.

Unfortunately, we do. I am on a L-1B and it expires in June. The EAD obviously allows me to work beyond that, but I need my AP to travel. My lawyers are all over this, and they don't want me to travel until the AP comes through (even though I can legally enter/leave on my L-1B for now).

Mine took 13 days. RFE issued Oct. 17, received Oct. 30. It was for medicals and supplement J. Sent back to USCIS on Nov. 21, they acknowledged receipt online Dec. 14.

Topic: Travelling on AP while renewal is pending

Hey Phil.

Question 1: If your application gets sent to Nebraska, you may be OK. My EAD was approved this week, and I'm waiting to see if my card is a combo card, but others are reporting that their AP was no problem (my AP expired in August, applied for renewal in June, and went on vacation in July, unaware of the controversy). If it gets sent to Texas, you may get denied, even if you have other valid means to enter/leave the country. Rules are not being applied consistently, nor are past practices.

Question 2: Question for a lawyer, or someone knowledgeable on here. I don't know if the E visa is the same as the H or L, where leaving the country does not mean abandonment of your I-140 or I-485 applications.

Should take 7-10 days. Go to my.usps.com and sign up to see your mail in advance, so you know which day it's coming.
