Hi All ,

I am planning to Apply for CANADA PR from USA. I recently took my IELTS and my score is 7.5 Overall , planning to retake IELTS again.

My question is in worst case, If i score less than 7.5. Which score would be considered for applying for PR application ?? Will I use my highest score or the recent most score. Please advise me .

Thanks in Advance.

As far as I know, it depends on your CRS score. IELTS is just one factor and overall score does not indicate anything. It is breakup that is important.

7778 , 8 in listening and 7 in all is best combination. You could use your best score to apply.

hi gaurav

qq - you mentioned that its very difficult to get OINP as competition is very high . What if we do MBA from Ontario province , then does that increase chances for OINP or is it not worth throwing money for MBA for such thing ?

can you please advise ?

Hello,

It depends on the Skill Level of your occupation. For NOC 0 or A the minimum is 7-8 overall. It is always encouraged that you prepare for the Exam as you will be receiving additional points for your overall application if it exceeds the minimum requirements. Everyone's situation is unique, I would like to discuss your application further if you feel that you need more assistance. www.immigrationconsultancyhub.com

Hi,

I am new to the Canada Immigration process. Need some guidance. I am currently in US and have over 16 years of IT experience. Me and my wife both gave IELTS. My IELTS average score is 7.5 and my wife have score of 8. We have CRS score of 455 as I don't have a active offer or a provisional nomination. I submitted my application and I was informed that I am not eligible. I wanted to understand on what basis my application was rejected? Do we need to have IELTS score of 7 or more in all English tests in order to qualify? Do I need to look for an offer before I apply again so that I can be eligible to be selected in pool of candidates?

Appreciate any advice from you all!

Thanks!+

Hi,

I only submitted my express entry profile. I believe the nest stage is when I am supposed to get invitation to apply! I was informed that I am eligible but did not mention the exact reason. When I initially checked eligibility and also used CRC tool, i was eligible. Not sure what I am missing!

Thanks!

Okay If i understand you, you were not eligible to enter into pool of candidates for the draw.
Below link explains the selection factors...( Assume you must have applied under FSWP )

How much points you have out of 100?

In view of tightening US immigration rules, many H1-B visa holders are considering to move to Canada on PR visa. It is quiet justified too as one cannot plan the future, if he/she is not sure about his/her status as immigrant in the USA. On the other hand, Canada is the perfect country for immigrants looking for safe and secure career and life in an advanced nation. The permanent residency process and pathway is relatively easy in Canada compared to the USA.

How to get PR in Canada as USA H1-B Visa holder?

Federal Express Entry System of Canada provides best pathway to the foreign skilled worker to apply and obtain PR visa in Canada. It is a point based system, which assess your profile based on your age, education, work experience, language skills (in English or French), etc. and accordingly allocate you points called CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score.

Applicants with highest CRS score get ITA (Invitation to apply) for Canada Permanent Residency (PR) Visa from IRCC(Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada).

Stepwise process to apply in Federal Express Entry System

Here is the stepwise process to apply Canada PR Visa via Express Entry System:

First of all, gather the key documents required to apply in Express Entry system, i.e.
Language proficiency test in English or French (i.e. IELTS Test score with CLB 7 score)
Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from WES or other relevant recognized assessing authority
Now create profile on online Express Entry system and score minimum 67 points under Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) Program based on age, education, experience, etc. parameters
If you score the minimum points in FSWP, you will find place in Express Entry pool,
Your profile will be given a definite point score called CRS score in the Express Entry pool, based on age, education, language skills, etc.
The IRCC will launch a draw every fortnight to choose the applicants with top CRS score. The cut off marks are announced for each draw.
If you are able achieve the cut off marks in any of the EE draw, you will get ITA (invitation to apply) for Canada PR from IRCC.
Gather all necessary documents and submit complete PR visa application within 90 days of the receipt of ITA.
You also need to submit the medical report and Police Clearance Certificate during this period.

I have recently become a permanent resident of the USA. I am so happy and proud of it. With regard of getting a permanent residency in Canada is very easy and straightforward relative to the USA immigration system. But I will not go to Canada, since no jobs are available there. In my Research Institute that I am working we have about 10 Canadians, and they all said to us that very few opportunities exist for researchers and scientists in Canada. So, think about it before applying for Canadian permanent residency. Thank you!
